Company History

Tyco Tamar was established over 35 years ago as a small engineering company specializing in general engineering and the manufacturing of valves for the marine market in Australia.

During the period 1983 -1992 Tyco Tamar expanded its product range to include the design and manufacture of household mini hydro electric systems and in 1994 relocated to Exeter Tasmania. This move allowed further expansion of the engineering and design capabilities in commercial renewable energy hydro power generation plants. Tyco Tamar was purchased by Tyco International in 2000 and became part of Tyco Flow Control Pacific Pty Ltd. Tyco International presently employ approximately 115000 people in over 60 countries.

Tyco Tamar employ approximately 70 highly skilled personnel including welders, fitters, machinists, electricians, system integrators, mechanical and electrical technicians, and, mechanical and electrical design engineers.

Tyco Tamar have now grown to become one of the largest manufacturers of renewable energy equipment in the Australasia/Pacific region and have illustrated the ability to grow and develop a sustainable business in the green energy sector.
